JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) recorded an increase in the value of incoming remittance transactions of BRI (working Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) abroad. Until February, BRI recorded an increase of 27.7 percent which came from the high number of PMI transactions in the period of Ramadan 1447 H.

Director of Treasury and International Banking of BRI, Farida Thamrin, said that BRI is committed to continue to support the financial needs of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and their families at every stage of the journey.

"The achievement of remittance delivery by PMI is largely used to meet the needs of family life in Indonesia, including to prepare for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H," said Farida, Sabru, March 21.

BRI noted that the remittance of PMI was most sent from Malaysia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The funds were then received by the PMI family in various regions in Indonesia, especially in West Java, Lampung, and West Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, BRI's efforts to strengthen services for SMEs are also in line with the government's vision to create equitable prosperity throughout the country. This also supports the Government's Asta Cita, especially the 6th Asta Cita which focuses on development from the village to encourage economic equity and poverty alleviation.

Farida added that the presence of BRI remittance services is an important link between PMI who work in various countries and their families in their homeland. Through the remittance of funds, PMI not only help meet the needs of the family's household, but also maintain purchasing power and also contribute to the economy in various regions.

As a bank that has a wide network to the corners of the country, he continued, BRI continues to provide remittance service solutions that make it easier for PMI to send funds to their families in the country.

"Through the BRI Remittance service, funds from abroad can be sent using various mechanisms, either directly to the recipient's account or through a cash pick-up service without an account at all BRI and BRILink Agent work units spread throughout Indonesia," explained Farida.

Not only facilitating the delivery of funds from abroad to Indonesia, BRI also provides overseas remittance services (outgoing remittance). Through the International Transfer feature on the BRImo super app, customers can send funds to various countries and monitor the status of transactions in real time through BRIFast Tracker.

Meanwhile, for the families of PMI in Indonesia, BRI also provides ease in receiving and managing remittances from abroad. Through 1.2 million BRILink Agents and BRImo super apps, PMI families can easily access financial services to meet daily needs and financial planning, including during the Ramadan and Lebaran momentum.

"Savings products such as BritAma and Simpedes are also a solution for families in managing funds received from abroad," said Farida.
