JAKARTA - The President Director (Dirut) of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani immediately coordinated with related entrepreneurs and associations following the discovery of red chili prices of up to Rp. 140 thousand per kilogram at Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
"So we will coordinate with chili entrepreneurs, chili associations, so that the price is lowered, hopefully back to standard for Eid later," said Rizal when confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday, February 21, quoted by Antara.
Previously, Rizal together with the Food Task Force conducted a sudden inspection (sidak) at Pasar Minggu, on Friday (20/2). During the raid, Rizal and his staff checked the stock and price of commodities such as rice, subsidized cooking oil brand MinyaKita, including granulated sugar.
During his review, Rizal also checked the prices of other strategic food products such as red onions, garlic, chicken meat, beef, including curly red chilies to red rawit chilies.
"Indeed (the results of the raid) there are some that have become our corrections, the first is chili. I'm sorry. This chili is a bit high because the rainy season, which is usually (curly red chili) only Rp50,000 per kilo, it has risen to Rp60,000 per kg," he said.
Rizal assessed that the increase in chili prices was still reasonable, because the rain continued to pour in the last week so that the supply was disrupted, distributors had difficulty preparing goods, so that the price of food commodities rose by around Rp. 10,000.
"As for red chili, it also increased by around Rp20,000," he said.
Facing this condition, his party immediately coordinated with chili entrepreneurs and associations so that prices could be pushed back to normal levels ahead of Lebaran.
