JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has disbursed 5.97 million housing credit units worth Rp555.11 trillion to Indonesian families since 1976 to December 2025, with the majority being disbursed to the subsidized mortgage segment.

BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu said that BTN is a national bank with a long history and strategic contribution to housing development.

BTN was reborn as a national bank on February 9, 1950. The strategic role was strengthened when BTN disbursed the first home ownership loan (KPR) in Indonesia in 1976.

"Since then, housing financing has become the company's DNA," said Nixon, in his statement, quoted Wednesday, February 18.

The distribution of subsidized KPR was recorded at 4.4 million units with a value of Rp300.99 trillion. The details, conventional subsidized KPR 4.06 million units worth Rp258.27 trillion and Sharia subsidized KPR 338,097 units with a ceiling of Rp42.72 trillion.

As for the non-subsidy segment, BTN has distributed 1.3 million units of houses worth Rp218.57 trillion. This figure consists of 1.18 million conventional non-subsidized mortgages worth Rp191.46 trillion and 125,410 non-subsidized Islamic mortgages with a value of Rp27.1 trillion.

Apart from home purchases, BTN also provides home collateral loans (KAR) and home construction loans (KBR) which reached 262,876 units with a value of Rp35.5 trillion.

The Company notes that this achievement further confirms its role in supporting residential ownership for the Indonesian people.

Chairman of the Indonesian Real Estate Association (DPP REI) Joko Suranto considers that BTN has become a major pillar of national housing financing.

For 76 years, BTN has been consistently serving the community in realizing the dream of housing. Not only for consumers, but also for business actors providing housing.

"As a leading bank in the housing industry, BTN has served the community in realizing the dream of housing. Including providing financing to housing providers," he said.

Joko sees BTN's contribution as very real in supporting the ecosystem of the property sector. Sustainable financing support keeps the housing industry wheel moving and has an impact on the national economy.

In addition, the transformation carried out by BTN in improving the quality of services is also considered positive.

This step is believed to strengthen BTN's role in the future, as well as encourage greater contributions to the national economy.

REI also appreciates BTN's long journey which has been 76 years.

"Happy 76th birthday. Hopefully BTN will continue to progress, continue to contribute to the community, and also to this country in providing homes for the people," said Joko.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Association of All Indonesian Housing and Settlement Developers (Apersi) Junaidi Abdillah added that BTN's role is increasingly crucial in supporting the government's 3 million house program.

The majority of subsidized housing financing still relies on BTN, both for consumers and developers.

"The role of the banking sector is very vital, not only as a provider of financing, but also to help developers maintain cash flow so that businesses are sustainable," said Junaidi.
