JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) has contributed to the recovery of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra which were affected by flash floods in late November 2025.

Minister of Transmigration (Mentrans) M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara said that his party would provide assistance in supplying clean water.

"We will focus on providing clean water facilities," said Iftitah at a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 11.

Iftitah said that the transmigration area affected by the earthquake was in two provinces, namely Aceh and West Sumatra.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) projected the budget needs for handling flash floods and landslides in Sumatra over the next four years.

Based on the Master Plan (Renduk) and Strategic Plan (Renstra) which are currently being discussed with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas), the total indication of funding needs for the period 2025-2028 reaches Rp. 73.98 trillion or almost Rp. 74 trillion.

Minister PU Dody Hanggodo detailed that the budget allocation would be divided into two main positions.

A total of Rp4.84 trillion was allocated for emergency response activities, while the largest portion, namely Rp69.14 trillion, was allocated for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Rehab & Recon).

This was conveyed by Dody in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 27.

"For information, from our results and strategic plan, the total indication for handling the budget needs for disaster handling in 2025-2028 is almost Rp74 trillion," he said.

For realization throughout 2025, said Dody, the emergency response budget has been absorbed to reach Rp. 576 billion.

However, the urgent need for funds is still very large for the current year 2026.

"In 2026, we still need a budget for emergency response of Rp. 4.27 trillion," said Dody.

Apart from the emergency fund, the PU Ministry is also targeting an allocation of funds for the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase of Rp. 24.55 trillion in 2026.

Dody emphasized that the activities of restoring physical infrastructure after disasters are multi-year.

The projected budget needs will continue to rise in 2027, with an estimated rehabilitation and reconstruction fund of Rp. 28 trillion.

Meanwhile, for the 2028 fiscal year (TA), the PU Ministry noted the need for rehabilitation and reconstruction budgets at the end of the period of Rp. 16.22 trillion.
