JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the government would roll out an economic stimulus package in the first quarter of 2026 with a total budget of Rp. 12.83 trillion.
Airlangga said the stimulus was aimed at maintaining people's purchasing power while supporting smooth mobility during the Lebaran period.
"We will launch a stimulus package that reflects the development of Indonesia's economic conditions. We have prepared a budget of Rp. 12.83 trillion to support people's purchasing power and mobility," he said at the Indonesia Economic Summit, Tuesday, February 3.
Airlangga added that one of the forms of incentives prepared was a reduction in transportation tariffs during the Lebaran season with a budget value of around Rp. 200 billion.
He explained that the government would provide a discount of up to 16 percent on domestic economy class air tickets.
Airlangga added that the incentive was given through the Value Added Tax (VAT) scheme borne by the government for domestic flights.
"We give discounts on flights of up to around 16 percent, including VAT borne by the government, VAT for tickets, but this is only economy class and only domestic flights," he said.
On the other hand, airport managers also contributed by providing cost relief, namely Angkasa Pura will reduce the airport tax rate by 50 percent.
In addition, Airlangga added that the price of jet fuel would also be discounted to reduce the operational burden of airlines.
Airlangga said that not only the aviation sector, similar incentives were also given for other modes of transportation, namely the government prepared a discount of up to 30 percent for sea and train transportation services.
Meanwhile, for private vehicle users, the government provides stimulus in the form of a 20 percent reduction in toll rates.
"It will be announced later," he said.
In addition to transportation incentives, Airlangga said the Government has prepared a social assistance package in the form of 10 kilograms of rice and cooking oil.
The assistance will be distributed for two months, namely in the period from February to March 2026.
Airlangga emphasized that these policies are expected to encourage increased community mobility and strengthen economic activity, especially in the first quarter of 2026.
"Well, the target is to move the economy higher because the first quarter is important. Yesterday, the first quarter last year was relatively lower. In the near future," he concluded.
