JAKARTA - The Governor of the National Resilience Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) Ace Hasan Syadzily said that economic and legal strengthening was needed to achieve national resilience.

"Without a strong economy and law, national resilience will be difficult to achieve sustainably," Ace said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, January 31.

In the economic sector, he continued, there are two things that affect the national resilience of the nation, namely stability and economic independence.

With economic independence, Ace said, a country is able to reduce its dependence on imports of goods, especially food and energy so that it is not easily intervened by other nations.

Ace said, while in the legal sector, legal certainty and multilateral diplomacy must be strengthened to achieve sustainable national resilience.

"Legal certainty is an absolute prerequisite for attracting foreign investment, the sustainability of economic builders, fair management of natural resources, and reliable human rights enforcement," said Ace.

Then multilateral law and diplomacy are able to strengthen Indonesia's legitimacy in the global arena and not be trapped in the dominance of major powers.

However, in the era of rapidly changing global geopolitical dynamics, Ace assessed that there were several challenges that needed to be faced to strengthen a strong economic and legal sector.

The challenges faced include corruption, foreign investment, human capital quality (SDM) and trade openness.

By successfully facing these challenges, Ace believes that Indonesia will have a stable national resilience.
