JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI reiterated its commitment to encourage the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through support for the activities of the Dissemination of the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for MSMEs held at the Smesco Laboratory, Jakarta.

The collaborative activities between Smesco Indonesia, Indonesian Muslim Women Entrepreneurs (WPMI), MWX, and BNI were attended by 56 UMKM actors. Participants received training on the use of AI technology in business operations, digitization of financial transactions, to business development opportunities towards the export market.

Director of Commercial Business BNI Muhammad Iqbal said, BNI is committed to providing digital solutions that can accelerate the transformation of MSMEs so that they are more adaptive and competitive. One of the supports is realized through the BNIdirect business service which helps business actors manage financial transactions quickly, safely, and efficiently.

"BNI continues to expand support to MSMEs through digital solutions, access to financing, and integrated training programs. We want Indonesian MSMEs to grow sustainably and be able to compete, not only in the domestic market, but also in the global market," said Iqbal in a written statement.

Iqbal explained BNI's role in encouraging MSMEs to penetrate the export market through the BNI Xpora platform which focuses on three main pillars, namely Go Productive, Go Digital, and Go Global. The program includes education, mentoring, to facilitating business matching and access to international markets.

Director of Business and Marketing of Smesco Indonesia Rizky Firdaus added, this activity is designed to provide practical understanding to MSMEs regarding the implementation of AI and digitization in daily business activities. According to him, collaboration with BNI is a strategic step in expanding access to education for MSMEs, ranging from digital transaction recording, AI-based marketing, to export readiness.

"We appreciate the support and synergy of BNI which also helped make this activity a success, so that MSMEs can gain insights that are applicable and relevant to their business needs," said Rizky. A similar appreciation was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Muslim Business Women (WPMI) Tri Hastuti Anjarsari. He assessed that the material presented provided a new perspective for female business actors to increase the scale and quality of their business.

"The use of AI from MWX, the development of exports through BNI Xpora, and the use of BNIdirect business for transaction digitization opens up opportunities for women business actors to rise in class," explained Tri.

In the presentation session, MWX Tresna Manggala representative introduced the use of AI technology through the SMEwhiz.ai and FinanceWhiz.ai platforms. This technology helps MSMEs in the creation of automated content, marketing analysis, transaction recording, to the management of financial reports digitally so that business operations become more efficient and measurable.

Through this cross-institutional collaboration, BNI hopes that more SMEs will utilize digital technology as a strategy to increase competitiveness. This effort is expected to strengthen the national SME ecosystem while opening up opportunities for Indonesia's more sustainable and globally oriented business growth. (ADV)
