DPR Schedules the Eligibility Test for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia This Week

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mukhamad Misbakhun, said that Commission XI is scheduled to hold an internal meeting to arrange the schedule for the fit and proper test for the Deputy Governor candidates of the Bank Indonesia.

He added that there were three names proposed, namely Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, Head of the BI Payment System Policy Department Dicky Kartikoyono, Assistant Governor Head of the BI Macroprudential Policy Department, Solikin M. Juhro

However, he added that until now the schedule for the fit and proper test has not been determined and will be determined in the internal meeting of Commission XI.

"I have asked the Secretariat of Commission XI to schedule an internal meeting to arrange the schedule for the fit and proper Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia," he told the media, Monday, January 19.

Misbakhun said that the process would be carried out in the near future and was sure to take place on weekdays.

"Yes, it's this week, what day do you want, the important thing is the working day," he said.

He explained that the entire process of proposing candidates for Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, including Senior Deputy Governor, was a proposal from Bank Indonesia which was submitted to the President, then forwarded to the House of Representatives (DPR) through a Presidential Letter (Supres).

Misbakhun said that the Surpres was issued due to the resignation of the previous official.

Regarding the reason for the resignation of BI Deputy Governor Juda Agung, Misbakhun said that it was stated in the Surpres, but he had not read it directly because the document was still in the Secretariat of the Consultative Body.

He emphasized that the vacancy should not last too long so that the replacement process needs to be carried out immediately.
