JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is speeding up the completion of 1,522 temporary housing or huntara in a number of areas affected by flash floods and landslides in Sumatra at the end of November 2025.

"We are also building 1,522 huntara, the target is before entering Ramadan, all of them have been completed, it is in accordance with the instructions from BNPB," said Dody.
Dody detailed that 1,522 huntara were being built in four affected areas. Among others, 480 units in Bener Meriah Regency (Aceh Province), 211 units in Pidie Jaya (Aceh Province), North Aceh (Aceh Province) as many as 400 units and in South Tapanuli Regency (North Sumatra Province) as many as 431 units.
He added that his party used a steel modular system in the construction of thousands of huntara.
"We use a steel modular system that we have been using all this time everywhere and has proven to be of good quality, also durable," he added.
