JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that as of December 31, 2025, the budget for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program had been realized at Rp. 51.5 trillion or equivalent to 72.5 percent of the total ceiling of Rp. 71 trillion.
Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono stated that from the total realization of the budget, the benefits that are directly felt by the community reach Rp. 43.3 trillion.

Furthermore, Thomas said that as of January 7, 2026, the number of MBG recipients had increased to 56.13 million people spread across 38 provinces.
He added that to support the implementation of the program, 19,343 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) had been established, absorbing 789,319 workers.
In addition to the realization of MBG, Thomas conveyed that the realization of the budget for the free health check program until December 31, 2025 was recorded at Rp. 2.1 trillion and had served around 70.8 million people.
"The hospital revitalization program is the class upgrade from D Pratama class to C class, the realization is IDR 3.2 trillion with the details of the Kemenkes realization of IDR 1.6 trillion for 20 hospitals and the realization of physical DAK through TKD of IDR 1.6 trillion also for 12 hospitals," he explained.
On the same occasion, Thomas said that the realization of the people's school program budget had reached Rp. 6.6 trillion or about 85 percent of the total budget ceiling.
He explained that of this amount, Rp5.4 trillion was used by the Ministry of Public Works for the renovation of educational facilities, while Rp1.1 trillion was channeled through the Ministry of Social Affairs for the implementation of educational activities.
"The budget educates 15,895 poor students and involves 6,849 teachers and educators with the operationalization of 166 public schools," he said.
