Musim Panen, Bulog Kurangi Penyaluran Beras SPHP di Sentra Produksi

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog will reduce the distribution of cheap rice through the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program in rice production centers. This policy is taken to prevent excess supply in the producer area while maintaining the balance of distribution to areas in need.

Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the reduction in the volume of distribution of SPHP at the production center was carried out especially during the peak harvest season. However, distribution still runs with limited volume so that supplies do not suppress the price of rice at the farmer level.

"Later, during the harvest season, at the peak of the harvest season in March and April, including August, we will distribute in the production centers, the distribution of SPHP is reduced in volume. But it is still being carried out so that it does not spill a lot in the market," said Rizal in a media briefing on the Crucial Achievement of Bulog 2025 and Strategic Steps 2026 at the Bulog Office, South Jakarta, Friday, January 2.

Meanwhile, for areas that are not rice production centers, the distribution of SPHP will continue to be carried out normally as an effort to maintain the stability of supply and prices at the consumer level.

Rizal added that in 2026 Bulog was tasked with distributing 1.5 million tons of SPHP rice throughout the year. This amount is the same as the target for distributing SPHP in 2025. However, the realization of SPHP distribution last year only reached 802,939 tons.

In addition to volume adjustments, Bulog also changed the distribution scheme for SPHP rice. Currently, distribution is carried out directly from Bulog to retailers with a 5 kilogram (kg) package, without going through distributors.

According to Rizal, this change in the scheme was carried out based on an evaluation of the previous distribution. In the old pattern, SPHP rice distributed through distributors was often supplemented with other rice, then resold at a price that was not in accordance with the provisions.

"Now it is not directly handed over to wholesalers but from Bulog directly to retailers to the retailers in the field who are in the forefront so that they cut the distribution lines 1 and distribution 2," he said.
