JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as a Subholding of Pertamina Gas continues to distribute humanitarian assistance through a CSR program for people affected by disasters in Aceh and North Sumatra. The President Director of PGN directly visited the flood-affected location in Lhokseumawe, Aceh and also led the delivery of logistical assistance to meet the basic needs of people affected by disasters on Monday, December 15.
Accompanied by other PGN directors, PGN President Director Arief Kurnia Risdianto symbolically handed over assistance to residents in the form of food packages.
"We are very concerned about the flood disaster that has hit our brothers and sisters in Aceh and North Sumatra. PGN is trying to optimize the distribution of assistance to be targeted, and directly received by the community in need. We also want to provide moral support for the community in facing this difficult time," said Arief.
Since the flood disaster in several points in North Sumatra and Aceh, PGN has also moved quickly through a CSR program to distribute emergency basic necessities, mother and child supplies and medicines. The total assistance from the Group's Gas Subholding has been distributed to around Rp. 2.5 billion.
Overall, PGN has distributed logistical assistance packages that include staple foods, ready-to-eat foods, drinking water, baby supplies, vitamins, and light medicines. In addition to consumption assistance, PGN also provides operational support equipment for the post and public kitchens, such as industrial and household stoves, LPG cylinders, large boilers and pans, as well as other cooking equipment to ensure that the food needs of refugees can be met sustainably.
In addition to logistical assistance, PGN also supports the fulfillment of basic community needs through the provision of 10,000 liters of clean water per day to several posts, public kitchens and to the Tamiang Hospital. Some of the posts include fire posts, landslide posts, Sidodadi posts and Liput River posts. PGN also provides a mini Water Treatment Plant (WTP) facility at Pangkalan Brandan with a capacity of 2000 liters/hour for the community's clean water needs.
PGN also managed to penetrate one of the villages that had lost access and limited access on the border of North Sumatra and Aceh to distribute various basic needs such as 1,250 kg of rice, 250 kg of sugar, 250 ready-to-eat meals, 75 5-liter packaged cooking oil, 50 boxes of noodles, 20 eggs, 250 large canned sardines, 150 boxes of instant noodles, cooking ingredients, as well as other important equipment such as medicines, vitamins, ointments and baby diapers.

In the distribution of assistance, PGN together with Pertamina Peduli continues to coordinate with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), local government, and village institutions to distribute assistance directly and map the points of the location that most need assistance.
