JAKARTA - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) has released the Wholesale Fiber Connectivity business and assets (Phase-1) to its subsidiary, PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (TIF). This business maneuver is marked by the signing of a separation deed which was carried out today, Thursday, December 18.
Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio, Seno Soemadji, explained that for the first phase, Telkom will release assets worth Rp35 trillion and will continue to Rp90 trillion when the spin-off process is completed.
"So now we can see that the assets of InfraNexia Phase 1 are a separation of 50 percent of our fiber assets with book value assets of around Rp35 comma so trillion. And in the end we will take into account the total value of it is approximately Rp90 trillion or can be said to be approximately 60 million US dollars," said Seno, Thursday, December 18.
He added, this corporate action is a milestone that has been started since 2013 which is marked by the establishment of PT TIF. On the other hand, this action is also in line with Telkom's efforts to support the government's agenda in accelerating national digitization.
"The separation of these assets is also part of how we meet the government's goal for digitization, with efficiency from assets, efficiency from capex, and maximization of including monetization of the assets we have. So with this efficiency we can reach the privatization of Indonesia, God willing, hopefully wider," he said.
Meanwhile, Dian Siswarini's President Director said that the establishment of InfraNexia aims to expand connectivity services to more stakeholders. This step is expected to encourage the national telecommunications industry to grow more efficiently and competitively.
Dian added that spending and managing network infrastructure, especially fiber optics, requires focus, governance, and a more dedicated business model. This is necessary so that assets can create optimal value while opening up wider strategic partnership space.
"Now the presence of InfraNexia will allow Telkom to accelerate implementation, as Telkom 30, through increased operational efficiency, transparency of the wholesale business model, and the strength of the role of the Telkom Group as an enabler of an inclusive and globally competitive national digital ecosystem," said Dian.
