JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has conducted the first population data collection in the delineation area of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) several months ago, including the use of geotagging housing conditions.

One of the results of the use of geotagging showed that there were more than 100 households in IKN who did not have a toilet facility (BAB).

Based on the results of the 2025 Capital City Population Census (PPIKN) conducted by BPS together with the IKN Authority (OIKN), the number of IKN residents in 2025 was recorded at 147,427 people or 43,293 households.

In the data collection, BPS also carried out geotagging the existence of households for the benefit of the government in the intervention of policy programs. Among them is the data collection on housing conditions as an effort to support the main performance indicators (IKU) of OIKN in providing decent housing.

"PPIKN recorded 232 households or 0.54 percent of the total households whose floors were still made of land. Then, there were also households who did not have toilet facilities. A total of 142 households or about 0.33 percent did not have toilet facilities out of a total of 43,293 households," said Amalia in the Dissemination of Results and Presentation of Publication Documents of the Capital City of Nusantara Population Data (PPIKN) 2025 at the BPS office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 16.

BPS also conducted data collection on the distribution of households with non-electric lighting as the main source. It was recorded that there were 49 households or about 0.11 percent of the total households in IKN did not have access to electricity.

Regarding drinking water sources, BPS noted that as many as 530 households or about 1.22 percent of the total households in IKN use the main drinking water source from rainwater.

Amalia hopes that the data collection can become a credible source and become a direction for the government's policies to be more accurate in the future.

"So, this can help Mr. and Mrs. Bappenas and OIKN to continue to plan the development of IKN with more targeted goals," he said.

In addition, said Amalia, the IKN population census was carried out with a budget from the IKN Authority.

"The Head of the IKN Authority agreed, we were given a budget by the IKN Authority to carry out a complete census of the population of the Capital of Nusantara," he explained.

On the same occasion, the Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono said that the budget for the IKN population census was Rp7 billion, involving 856 BPS officers.
