JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Directorate General of Law Enforcement (Ditjen Gakkum) ESDM officially conducted an open auction through the lelang.go.id application for state-controlled goods in the form of stockpiles with bauxite commodities of more than 629,000 metric tons (MT) in the Riau Islands.

Director General of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jeffri Huwae, explained that this stockpile of bauxite did not come from the results of criminal seizures or illegal mining activities.

"The stockpile is the remaining production from mining business activities previously carried out by permit holders but currently the permit has expired and has not been sold," said Jeffri in a statement to the media, Tuesday, December 16.

He emphasized that the existence of the stockpile was not related to the handling of criminal cases, but was the remaining mining material of the previous mining company's business activities.

The auction process and bid opening will be opened on December 16, 2025 to December 22, 2025, followed by the process of determining the auction winner at the State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) Batam, Jl. Engku Putri, Batam Center, Batam.

Furthermore, Jeffri also emphasized that this auction initiative is a follow-up to the mandate of Article 199J of Government Regulation No. 39 of 2025 concerning the Second Amendment to Government Regulation Number 96 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities.

"If it is found again that there are mineral stocks, whether bauxite, coal, nickel, or other commodities, law enforcement will be carried out by designating the goods as State-controlled goods to be auctioned. The auction proceeds will be the PNBP of the ESDM sector," he continued.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources itself is optimistic that the achievement of Non-Tax State Revenues in 2025 can meet the target written in the State Budget (APBN) of Rp. 254 trillion.

"This bauxite auction is also a valuable end-of-year gift for the country, contributing to state revenues with a potential of more than Rp200 billion," explained Jeffri.

Through this auction, legal certainty can be created for goods owned by the state from the remaining results of mining business activities.

The results of the bauxite auction are a momentum of proof of the performance of the Directorate General of Gakkum, one of whose visions is to increase state revenues through law enforcement in the ESDM sector.

Jeffri believes that this step will not only strengthen the contribution of the ESDM sector to the national economy, but also as a form of transparency and accountability in the management of natural resources.

"This process is fair, so we invite all parties who meet the qualifications to be able to participate in this auction," said Jeffri.

This auction is the result of close collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Finance, especially the Directorate General of Law Enforcement (Gakkum) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN), Regional Office of DJKN Riau, West Sumatra, and Riau Islands, as well as the State Assets and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) Batam.
