JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono revealed that he had written a letter to the Territorial Assistant of the Commander of the Indonesian Air Force to be able to send assistance in the form of transportation to transport coffee production from cooperatives in Bener Meriah Regency.

According to him, about 200 tons of coffee cannot be marketed because the road access is cut off so that transportation mode assistance is needed to help market coffee outside the Aceh region. The proceeds from the sale of the cooperative's coffee will then be returned to the cooperative.

"We are sending a letter to the Commander so that the Air Force plane can transport coffee from cooperatives in Benar Meriah. This will make it easier for people because land transportation access has been cut off," Ferry told the media crew at the Ministry of Cooperatives Building, Tuesday, December 16.

As a form of continued support for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra, the Ministry of Home Affairs will also establish a post office that will become a coordination center for the distribution of assistance and the recovery of the community's social and economic conditions.

Currently, the Ministry of Cooperatives, Trade, and Industry is intensively coordinating with other parties to conduct an inventory of cooperatives affected by disasters, including the Red and White Village/Village Cooperative (Kopdes/Kel).

Officers from the Cooperative, Business Assistant, and Project Management Office (PMO) will be deployed as volunteers to help solve problems in the field, especially those related to cooperatives.

This, he said, was in line with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions in the previous cabinet meeting for the government to establish relaxation for Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih who were affected by disasters. This is necessary to ease the burden of cooperatives that have lost assets and business activities.

"Yesterday in the cabinet meeting it was conveyed that the Red and White village and village cooperatives would get relaxation. This is a form of government attention to recovery in disaster areas," said Ferry.
