Minister of Finance Purbaya Response to Low Tax Collection and Disaster Recovery Budget

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa responded to the still low tax revenue, even though it was the final phase of 2025.

As is known, the tax revenue deposit for October 2025 was only realized Rp. 1,459 trillion or 70.2 percent of the estimate until the end of the year amounting to Rp. 2,076.9 trillion. Meanwhile, the state budget deficit as of October 2025 reached 2.02 percent, while the deficit target until the end of the year per the 2025 First Semester Report was set at 2.78 percent.

Minister of Finance Purbaya revealed that he was trying to keep the deficit below 3 percent. This was conveyed by Minister of Finance Purbaya after attending the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

In addition to discussing the target tax shortfall, Minister of Finance Purbaya also explained the budget for disaster recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Minister of Finance Purbaya explained that he had prepared a budget of Rp. 60 trillion from the state budget.

In 2026, according to the Minister of Finance Purbaya, there will be a relaxation for disaster-affected areas whose funds have been cut, so that disaster-affected areas can build and carry out disaster rehabilitation.
