BPJS Employment Cilincing Protects Hundreds of Operational Workers with Free Nutritious Meals

JAKARTA - Following up on the cooperation between the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the Central Manpower Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) regarding the synergy of the Implementation of the Social Security Program for Manpower to Support the Implementation of National Nutrition Fulfillment, the Jakarta Cilincing BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Office moved quickly to provide social security protection to workers involved in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

A total of 18 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) with a total of 886 operational workers in the Cilincing and Koja areas are now protected by two main BPJS Employment programs, namely Death Guarantee (JKM) and Old Age Guarantee (JHT).

The workers are Non-Civil State Apparatus Government Employees (Non-ASN) under the National Nutrition Agency who are tasked with supporting the smooth running of the MBG program.

Head of the BPJS Employment Jakarta Cilincing Branch Office, Rita Mariana, said this step was part of BPJS Employment's commitment to ensure that all workers in the national strategic program ecosystem receive decent social protection rights, so that they can work calmly and productively.

"We continue to work to ensure that each participant gets their rights easily and quickly. The JKM and JHT programs are a tangible form of protection for workers and their families," said Rita, in a statement, Monday, December 15.

Rita emphasized the importance of this protection for workers in national program sectors such as MBG.

This initiative is expected to serve as an example for other branches in expanding the scope of protection, in line with the government's vision to achieve universal coverage of employment social security for all Indonesian workers.
