JAKARTA - PT Bumi Suksesindo, a subsidiary of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk, affirms its commitment to ensure mining activities in the Seven Bukit Operations are in line with environmental conservation efforts.

As part of the Merdeka Copper Gold Group, PT Bumi Suksisiindo runs various environmental programs, such as reclamation, rehabilitation, and natural resource management designed to maintain the balance of the ecosystem around its operational area.

One of PT Bumi Suksesindo's strategic steps is the implementation of progressive reclamation, namely replanting the land as soon as one area is completed without waiting for all mining operations to end.

This approach allows land restoration to be carried out more quickly and effectively. As of November 2025, PT Bumi Suksisiindo has reclaimed 84.96 hectares of land that has developed into a new habitat for various local animals in the Tujuh Bukit area.

The company's environmental commitment does not stop in the operational area. PT Bumi Suksisiindo has also completed the planting of compensation land in Bondowoso and Sukabumi in November 2023 with a total area of 1,990.79 hectares, exceeding the obligations of 1,985.72 hectares set by the government, making it the largest compensation area submitted by private institutions to the government at that time.

In addition, the company operating in Banyuwangi, East Java carried out the rehabilitation of critical land through planting 66,666 trees in an area of 60 hectares in the KPS Perhutani area of West and South Banyuwangi.

In water management, PT Bumi Suksesindo, which is operating a gold mine, applies a conservation approach that utilizes rainwater as the main source of operational needs.

The internal storage and processing system allows companies to reduce surface water and groundwater extraction. The company also monitors water quality regularly and ensures that all water released into the environment has met applicable quality standards.

PT Bumi Suksesindo operates based on the Environmental Policy of the Merdeka Copper Gold Group which applies to all entities and business partners. This policy includes commitments to environmental risk identification and mitigation, water conservation, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, tailing and waste management, land closure and reclamation, and protection of biodiversity.

To maintain this standard, Merdeka Copper Gold as the parent company consistently conducts periodic monitoring, internal audits, and the implementation of an environmental management system that is in accordance with ISO 14001:2015.
