Permit To Manage People's Wells By Cooperatives To MSMEs Published This Month

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that permits to manage people's oil wells will be issued this month. With the issuance of this permit, eating cooperatives and MSMEs to Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) contributes to national oil production.

"MSMEs, cooperatives, BUMDs, can already manage oil. This month we will give permission," Bahlil said as quoted on Tuesday, December 9.

Bahlil said that the legality of this people's well provides a legal umbrella for people who have been looking for sustenance by managing people's wells. In fact, he said, people's well entrepreneurs are often chased by unscrupulous persons and illegal levies (extortion).

"It's a pity that they were chased by an individual. Deposit there, deposit here. The work is not good," continued Bahlil.

Bahlil even asked the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, to take advantage of this rule for the advancement of MSMEs who have only sold basic necessities.

"So, Mr. Maman, play the item. Don't take care of crackers, take care of kiosks, take care of LPG," joked Bahlil.

Previously, Bahlil admitted that his party had inventoried 45,000 wells by involving the Provincial and Regency/City Governments, to be managed by the community through the Cooperatives, MSMEs, and BUMD recommended by the Regional Heads. This community oil well is identified as located in six provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Central Java and East Java. This new rule also emphasizes the importance of work safety aspects, environmental management, job creation, and regional economic turnover.

Bahlil also emphasized the importance of providing space for local people to play a direct role. He hopes that the community can work calmly, have good income, and the regional economy will run well.

"Even the MSMEs, the cooperatives, then the BUMDs are recommended by regional heads. Not appointed as well as from the center. So that it is certain that Jakarta MSMEs are not allowed, Jakarta cooperatives are not allowed. We want to make local people the masters in their own country. So let the local people themselves take care of it," said Bahlil.
