Hutama Karya Opens Functional Sibanceh Toll Road Section 1, Accelerates Distribution Of Aid For Disaster Victims

BANDA ACEH - PT Hutama Karya Persero (HK) functionally opened the Sigli Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 (Padang Tiji Seulimeum) from 7 December 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026.

This aims to accelerate the distribution of aid for disaster-affected communities in Aceh Province.

"This functional opening is expected to facilitate the distribution of humanitarian aid, accelerate the travel time of emergency response vehicles, and provide a safer and more efficient alternative route for the community during the increase in Christmas and New Year's mobility," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary HK Mardiansyah as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, December 7.

During this functional opening, he continued, HK actively coordinates with relevant agencies so that functional operations continue to prioritize safety aspects in the field.

"This road section is still in the construction stage, the opening is carried out on a limited basis," he said.

His party ensures that roads remain safe to cross because they have gone through a series of thorough preparations before opening, including fulfillment of safety elements and operational readiness.

During this period, the toll road section was opened 2 (two) directions and was specifically intended for Class I Vehicles, as well as logistics transportation carrying assistance and emergency needs for those affected.

He said, to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure vehicles passing according to the provisions, filtration is applied at the Seulimeum Line B Interchange (Seulimeum direction to Padang Tiji) and filtration at Padang Tiji entrance.

"This 'fungsional toll road' takes place at 08.00 a.m. every day with access from Padang Tiji to Seulimeum and vice versa, and road users still have to tap electronic money cards at toll gates," he said.

Based on the evaluation of the previous functional implementation, HK ensures that a number of readiness steps have been taken before the opening of this functional, starting from installing additional signs, placing standby officers, to strengthening patrols along the route.

HK urges road users to pay attention to technical conditions at several points, where there is a slow lane narrowing in areas prone to erosion and other hazard points.

"All these areas have been equipped with additional seasonings, visual markers, and supervision of officers to maintain the safety of road users," he said.

In addition, road users are also advised to ensure that their physical condition remains prime and does not drive sleepy, ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy, obeys a maximum speed limit of 60 km/hour, maintains a safe distance between vehicles, does not stop on the shoulder of the road except in an emergency, and follows all signs and directions from officers in the field.
