Government Stimulus Boosts Optimism Of Property Sector Recovery

JAKARTA - The property industry is expected to strengthen again along with the presence of various stimuli and policies of President Prabowo Subianto to encourage national economic recovery amid global uncertainty.

ZAFLAND CEO Zaenab Fitriyah Qoonitah expressed the government's great concern for the property sector will provide market certainty as well as encourage public interest, especially the younger generation, to buy a house.

He said a number of incentives such as tax exemptions for the purchase of houses of up to Rp5 billion and the extension of the Government-Borrowed Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) incentives until 2027, were considered capable of strengthening consumer confidence and increasing transactions, especially in the middle class housing segment.

"Especially with the existence of a tax-free house purchase program for property of a maximum of IDR 5 billion and the government freeing VAT of up to IDR 2 billion, this will make middle-class houses more attractive," he said in a written statement, quoted on Sunday, November 30.

According to him, the property sector is often a significant support for economic growth because it has a large multiplier effect.
