JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI strengthens collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) in the Higher Education Graduate Handling Program which aims to develop young Indonesian talents.
President Director of BNI Putrama Wahju Setyawan said the apprenticeship program was in line with the growing needs of the banking industry, especially in the midst of accelerating digital financial services.
According to him, BNI needs young adaptive talents who understand the banking business process, ranging from product marketing, financing to back office services.
"In the six months of this program, we have gained many talents ready to support BNI's business expansion, especially in the savings and credit marketing line which is currently the focus of strengthening the company," he said in his statement, written on Saturday, November 29.
He stated that the collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower strengthens connectivity between the world of education and industrial needs, while ensuring the availability of supplies of young workers relevant to the transformation of the financial sector.
The collaboration was also welcomed by the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli who expressed his appreciation directly during a working visit to the BNI Headquarters in Jakarta, Friday, November 28.
On that occasion, Yassierli together with BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan and his staff took the time to have a dialogue with the interns in a number of work units.
"BNI is one of the BUMN partners who recruited the most interns, more than 3,000 to 4,000 people spread throughout Indonesia," he explained.
BNI recorded 4,103 participants in the apprenticeship program consisting of 3,570 batch 1 and 533 batch 2 participants. Of that number, as many as 88 percent of participants were placed in 205 branch offices and 17 regional offices, while the other 12 percent underwent apprenticeship at the Head Office.

"We want equal opportunities to be given to graduates in the regions, so that they can internship in their respective areas," he said.
