JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) revealed that currently there are six of the 38 provinces in Indonesia that allocate the Sustainable Food Agriculture Area (KP2B) in the Regional Regulation (Perda) of the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW).
The six provinces allocated 87 percent of the total rice fields (LBS), both at the district/city and provincial levels. In the KP2B, there is a Sustainable Food Agriculture Land (LP2B) that will be protected so that it does not function to non-farm land.
Nusron admitted that currently the focus is on overseeing the revision process of the RTRW Regional Regulation to include the KP2B area. This was stated in the Coordination Meeting for Discussion on Restructuring RTRW, Transfer of Land Functions, LBS, LP2B, KP2B Provincial, Regency and City Levels at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Jakarta, recently.
He appealed to local governments (Pemda) to identify, verify and clarify rice fields in their respective areas, maximum until February 2026.
The findings will later become material for the revision of the RTRW Regional Regulation to include KP2B as much as 87 percent of the total LBS according to the target in the 2025-2029 RPJMN.
"Meanwhile, there are 13 provinces that have not included KP2B in RTRW. Therefore, the revision of the RTRW Regional Regulation needs to be carried out immediately as part of efforts to maintain domestic food land," said Nusron, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Thursday, November 20.
The Golkar Party politician hopes that the process of determining the KP2B in the RTRW can be resolved in the next three months.
"For the time being, our target (revision) is three months. We are targeting that early 2026 will be clean and clear. We are at the ATR/BPN for food security," he said.

"We hope that this map (RTRW) will be in the same connection so that in the future there will be certainty which ones are allowed and cannot (over the function of land)," he added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said that he would help guard the area so that RTRW revisions were immediately carried out.
"Restructuring rice fields in each area is important to avoid the conversion of rice fields," he said.
