Member Of The House Of Representatives Cecar Pertamina Regarding Fuel Quality Dispute Since The Beginning Of 2025

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI from the PDIP faction, Mufti Anam, questioned the efforts to improve the quality of Pertamina's fuel oil (BBM) which had been echoed by the board of directors of the holding and sub-holding of PT Pertamina (Persero).

Anam then detailed several events since the beginning of the year related to the quality of Pertamina's fuel which made noise in the community. Anam said that he had submitted public complaints to Pertamina through the meetings held.

"People are noisy about Oplosan Fuel. Then we also tell you in this place, how our people get good quality fuel at a price that is not cheap, namely Pertamax but there is a mixture of water then they switch to BP, Shell and so on," he said in a Working Meeting with PT Pertamina (Persero), Wednesday, November 19.

Not only that, after the viral incident of mixed fuel, Mufti also stated that there was another excitement in East Kalimantan where many people complained that the vehicle had broken down after filling fuel at Pertamina gas stations. In fact, there are still many people who are promised compensation but have not yet been realized by Pertamina.

"In fact, after this meeting was completed, what was promised was not realized," Anam continued.

Furthermore, Anam also brought up the incident at the end of October where as many as 290 people complained to Pertamina regarding the quality of Pertalite fuel mixed with water.

For this reason, Anam asked Pertamina to take concrete steps by evaluating the total from upstream to downstream by cooperating with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and other authorized institutions to improve the quality of fuel that residents have complained about.

Present on the same occasion, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) Mars Ega Legowo revealed that his party is actively strengthening and controlling the quality of the entire fuel supply chain.

"Supervision is carried out in layers starting from the refinery production process, laboratory certification, quality checks at fuel terminals, supervision in tank cars, to checking product conditions at gas stations," explained Ega.

Not only that, he continued, Pertamina Patra Niaga also strengthens the supply chain digitization system, starting from the digitalization system at fuel terminals, tank cars, to gas stations services.

"We are also working with Lemigas to carry out quality supervision and also an external audit that we are currently working with Intertek," said Ega.
