Dudy said that as the largest archipelagic country in the world and active member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) since 1973, Indonesia continues to show an important role in advancing world maritime governance.

"Indonesia is fully prepared to strengthen the role of the IMO, as well as advance a global maritime sector that is safe, sustainable, inclusive, and resilient through a firm commitment, effective collaboration, and real action," Dudy said in an official statement, Monday, November 17.
Furthermore, Dudy said Indonesia also emphasized its readiness to continue to support strengthening maritime safety and security, strengthening marine environmental protection, and maintaining the competence and fundamental rights of sailors.
"Including encouraging gender equality and increasing inclusiveness in all maritime sectors," he said.
This meeting, said Dudy, became a strategic space to strengthen international partnerships. He appreciated the presence of the ambassadors and said the dialogue that was established was very constructive in responding to the challenges of the maritime sector which continues to grow.
