JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo ensured that the construction of the Gedebage, Tasikmalaya and Cilacap (Getaci) toll roads will be completed next year.
Dody added that the construction of the Getaci Toll Road uses a multi-year scheme.
The national strategic project, he said, faced a number of obstacles. One of them is land acquisition.
"It's a normal process, there's no problem but usually it's a matter of land. The target is if you can do 2026, yes, it's definitely 2026, it's impossible or not. But everything has a process," said Dody as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 5.
Toll road construction will be carried out per segment, starting from the Gedebage area to Tasikmalaya. Then it will be continued to Cilacap in the next stage.
Dody emphasized that toll road construction cannot be completed in a hurry to maintain quality.
"We don't want to be too hasty, because if you hurry, it's usually not good design either," he said.
As is known, the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap (Getaci) Toll Road can be connected gradually to Yogyakarta in the master plan.
However, the construction of this toll road is carried out in stages by constructing the Toll Road from Yogyakarta to New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) Kulonprogo and the construction of the Getaci Toll Road is carried out from Gedebage to the Ciamis area first.
The Gedebage-Ciamis Toll Road project is part of the Getaci Toll Road network which stretches from Gedebage to Cilacap.
The Getaci toll road project to Ciamis plays a role in connecting the Getaci Toll Road Network with the NYIA Kulonprogo-Yogyakarta-Solo Toll Road Network.
