BPS: Medium-Premium Rice Drops Slightly Monthly In October 2025

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said that the average price of premium and medium rice at the milling level had decreased slightly in October 2025.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS Pudji Ismartini, said that the average price of premium and medium rice fell monthly or month to month (mtm), but increased on an annual basis (yoy).

"According to the quality of the rice milled, premium rice fell 0.71 percent month to month, but rose 4.96 percent year on year. And medium rice fell 0.46 percent month-to-month, but rose 6.13 percent year on year," said Pudji in a BRS release in Jakarta, Monday, November 3.

On average, BPS noted, rice prices at the milling level fell slightly by 0.54 percent on a monthly basis in October 2025. However, the average price rose 5.62 percent compared to the same period last year.

If detailed, the average price of rice at the milling level reached IDR 13,439 per kilogram in October 2025, from the previous month at the level of IDR 13,512 per kilogram.

In addition, BPS also noted, the average rice price at the wholesale level was deflation of 0.18 percent on a monthly basis. However, on an annual basis experienced inflation of 5.26 percent.

From there, the average price of rice at the wholesale level fell from Rp. 14,290 per kilogram in September 2025 to Rp. 14,264 per kilogram in October 2025.

Then, the average price of rice at the retail level experienced a deflation of 0.27 percent on a mtm basis, but there was an inflation of 3.86 percent yoy.

Secara rata-rata, harganya turun tipis menjadi Rp15.341 per kilogram pada Oktober 2025 dari bulan sebelumnya di angka Rp15.383 per kilogram.

"Sebagai informasi, harga beras yang kami sampaikan ini merupakan rata-rata harga beras mencakup berbagai jenis kualitas dan juga mencakup seluruh wilayah di Indonesia," imbuhnya.

"For information, the price of rice that we convey is the average price of rice covering various types of quality and also covering all regions in Indonesia," he added.
