JAKARTA - PT Danantara Investment Management (Persero) announced that 24 companies have passed the Selection of the Selection Provider List (DPT) in the waste to energy (WTE) or Waste Processing project into Electricity (PSEL).

Managing Director of the Danantara Investment, Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja said more than 200 companies wanted to participate in the project.

However, after being selected, said Stefanus, only 24 companies were selected to follow the next process, namely the auction or tender for the WTE phase 1 project.

Furthermore, Stefanus said, the 24 companies that passed the initial selection were all foreign companies.

"From Japan, from China, from Europe. Why? Because in batch 1 we want to make the tender quite fast. That's why we are looking for players who are already experienced. Incidentally, because there is no indication in Indonesia yet," Stefanus said in a media briefing in Jakarta, Monday, November 3.

He also said the WTE phase 1 project would be carried out in seven cities, namely Bali, Yogyakarta, Bogor Raya, Tangerang Raya, Semarang City, Bekasi Raya, and Medan Raya.

Later, continued Stefanus, the company that won the tender will become a partner of the Development and Management Business Entity (BUPP). The BUPP is in the form of a consortium involving local companies.

"Mereka kita akan minta untuk mencari partner lokal juga, untuk membentuk konsortium," kata Stefanus.

Stefanus said the tender process would be carried out on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He said that later each city would carry out their respective tenders.

"So there can be seven consortiums that win. We also don't want a consortium to win too much, later we will decide, because we also want a good risk management," he said.
