CIO Danantara: TOBA Does Not Participate In The WTE Project

JAKARTA - Danantara Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir ensured that PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA) did not participate in the waste-to-energy (WTE) project or the processing of Waste into Electricity (PSEL).

TOBA is an issuer engaged in renewable energy, once rumored to be involved in the WTE Danantara project.

"ToBA friends have no plans to participate in projects involving WTE Danantara," he said when met at Wisma Danantara Jakarta, Monday, November 3.

Previously, Corporate Finance and Investor Relations, PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk Mirza Rinaldy Hippy said his party would focus on working on the WTE business in the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) market.

Mirza said the waste treatment business in the ASEAN international market has attractive potential so that participation in the WTE project run by Danantara is not a priority for FFB.

Currently, continued Mirza, FFB is exploring investment opportunities and acquisition of green businesses in regional markets, such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.

The TOBA management statement straightened out various rumors that have been circulating so far, related to TOBA which will benefit from the WTE Danantara project. This rumor developed because one of the high-ranking Danantara officials was Pandu Sjahrir, who served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO).

Meanwhile, Pandu Sjahrir was previously the Deputy President Director of TOBA who then resigned because he focused on managing the Danantara.
