JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto held a meeting with the United States Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Environmental Growth, Jacob Helberg.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit which was held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

During the meeting, Airlangga and Jacob Helberg discussed various developments and efforts in the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, developments in tariff negotiations, Strategic Trade Management, especially related to Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS), and plans for the Southeast Asia Forum on Export Control (SEAFEC) event in 2026.

In addition, both of them also discussed developments from various US investments in Indonesia and developments from the digital economy, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data centers.

Airlangga said that Indonesia continues to open opportunities for United States investors in strategic sectors, such as purification projects (refinery) for nickel and other critical minerals, high-tech development such as High-end Semiconductor, Tech Talent Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Center, renewable energy, and exploring the construction of small-scale nuclear power plants (Small Modular Reactor).
