Not Sunset, Wamenperin Calls Textile A Positive Growth Sector In Prabowo's Government

Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza revealed, textiles have become an industrial sector that has experienced positive growth over the past year of the Prabowo Subianto Administration.

This was conveyed by Faisol during the 1 Year Event of the Prabowo-Gibran Government in Jakarta, Thursday, October 16.

"Especially those with intensive liber, yes, textiles and electronics are now growing. Even though the mineral-based sector is also getting more aggressive, yes," said Faisol.

According to Faisol, so far textiles are often considered as the sunset sector, aka not good, there is even an assumption that it will be difficult to rise.

"Our notes are investing in sectors where textiles were considered as one of the sunset sectors, where there is a lot of assessment that this industry is also difficult to rise," he said.

In fact, said Faisol, the financial industry also gave a signal of caution to investors to invest in the sector.

"But in fact there are a lot of investors now, especially from outside relocation, precisely in this sector. That's what friends need and we know that the textile sector is currently stretched," he added.

For information, the Ministry of Industry noted that the growth of the non-oil and gas or manufacturing processing industry reached 16.92 percent and has absorbed up to 19 million workers.

In addition, the total exports of the manufacturing industry have exceeded the figure of IDR 366.6 trillion to date.
