IDX: Capital Market Investors In Aceh Increase By 204 Percent

JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) of Aceh Province noted that the trend of the capital market in Aceh until August 2025 grew positively, reaching 204 percent of the target set for that year.

"This significant increase in the number of capital market investors reflects the increasing public literacy and interest in investment," said Aceh Province Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Thasrif Murhadi in Banda Aceh, quoted by Antara, Saturday, October 11.

He said that until August 2025, the number of capital market investors in Aceh had reached 182,011 Single Investor Identification (SID) or an increase compared to December 2024 which was recorded at 147,887 SID.

He said investor growth in 2025 reached 34,124 SID, or 204 percent of the target increase set at 16,720 SID.

"This is proof that the interest of the Acehnese people to invest in the capital market continues to increase," he said.

He explained that of the total investors recorded in Aceh Province, 60 percent were in the age range of 1830 years, 26 percent were 3140 years old, and the remaining 14 percent were over 40 years old.

The data shows the dominance of the younger generation in encouraging capital market growth in Aceh.

The young Aceh generation is now increasingly aware of the importance of investing from an early age. This trend also shows the success of financial literacy and inclusion efforts that we have been running with various parties, including the Financial Services Authority (OJK), campuses, schools, and communities," he said.

He added that nationally, the performance of the capital market also showed positive performance. The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) managed to penetrate the highest level in history at 8,250.93, with market capitalization reaching IDR 15,453 trillion.

Currently, there are 954 shares listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, of which 657 are Islamic shares.

Thasrif hopes that this positive trend can continue until the end of the year in the province at the westernmost end of Indonesia.

"We are optimistic that the number of investors in Aceh will continue to grow, along with the increasing public awareness that investing is not only a matter of profit, but also about participating in the nation's economic growth," he said.
