JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli said, one of the reasons for the rampant layoffs (PHK) in Indonesia was due to low competitiveness.

"When we talk about labor productivity, yes, we are indeed low. So, it's not only about the total factor productivity (TFP)," said Yassierli.
"But, something is clear, obviously. The contribution factor that is correct is that everyone understands, even though the effort is big, the long term strategy is that we are talking about the productivity of the workforce, which you are still challenging," he continued.
