Sido Muncul Sido Encourages The Independence Of Herbal Medicines

JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk (Sido Muncul) Tbk took part in an event held by the Indonesian Anatomy Expert Association (PAAI), namely a observatory that presented health experts at the National Scientific Meeting (PIN) in Surakarta, Central Java, on October 2-3, 2025.

Director of Sido Muncul, Dr. (HC) Irwan Hidayat had the opportunity to provide materials related to herbal medicine in front of participants from various regions. Irwan in his presentation offended doctors who flocked to become specialists.

According to Irwan, the role of doctors is also needed in developing herbs in the country, so they don't just have to be specialist doctors. This is an effort to encourage the role of doctors in realizing drug independence and reducing drug imports. Sido Muncul has been partnering with doctors as partners to produce quality products and efforts to encourage the independence of herbal medicines.

Irwan said that being a general practitioner is no less good than a specialist doctor. He said that doctors are a fort for the family in maintaining health.

"I build cooperation with doctors because these natural medicines can later be used if there is treatment and through existing doctors," said Irwan.

Then, Sido Muncul has been presenting single and standard products and products with toxicity tests.

"I hope that the government conducts toxicity tests every year, for example 50 because we only have 350 kinds of herbal medicine that can be used. If the government carries out a toxicity test of 50 in 10 years, we can add 500," he said.

Irwan said that Indonesia has 28 thousand biological wealths that can potentially be used as herbal medicine. Furthermore, Sido Muncul also plans to publish books containing detailed information about their product materials so that they can be accessed widely and serve as guidelines for medical personnel.
