Minister Of Public Works Make Sure To Send Heavy Equipment To Handle The Collapse Of Islamic Boarding Schools In Sidoarjo

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo opened his voice about the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building in Sidoarjo, East Java.

Dody confirmed that his party had sent heavy equipment to help evacuate at the boarding school.

"Already (sending the first tool) from the first time on 29 (September)," said Dody to reporters at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, October 3.

According to Dody, the heavy equipment sent by his party can only be used after instructions from Basarnas.

"But, right, it was a heavy equipment that was only allowed yesterday by Basarnas and Kodim. Because, right, at that time there was still a silent test. There were still those who spoke out, screamed. As soon as there was none, that's why heavy equipment started yesterday, right, afternoon to that afternoon may enter," he said.

When asked further about whether the Ministry of Public Works would be involved in the construction of the boarding school, Dody said, it was the authority of the private sector.

"That, right, is actually private. The important thing is, right, actually the governance," he said.

Later, continued Dody, his party will provide advice to those who want to rebuild the boarding school.

"Actually (the target) must have PBG (building approval). But the PBG, right, is managed in each local government. We just prepare the device, the system," explained Dody.

Previously, the Al-Khoziny Islamic boarding school building (Ponpes) located in Buduran District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, collapsed on Monday afternoon, September 29.

The building collapsed and hit hundreds of students who were praying in congregation.

Berdasarkan data sementara per Jumat, 3 Oktober, pukul 11.45 WIB, jumlah korban terdampak mencapai 166 orang.

Dari jumlah itu, sebanyak 111 orang telah ditemukan.

Rinciannya, 14 orang masih dirawat inap, 89 orang boleh pulang dan sembilan orang meninggal dunia.

Korban luka dirawat di sejumlah fasilitas kesehatan, antara lain RSUD RT Notopuro Sidoarjo, RS Siti Hajar, RS Delta Surya, RS Sheila Medika, RS Unair, RSUD dr. Mohamad Soewandhie Surabaya serta RS Sakinah Mojokerto.

Based on temporary data as of Friday, October 3, at 11.45 WIB, the number of affected victims reached 166 people.

Of that number, 111 people have been found.

In detail, 14 people are still being treated, 89 people can go home and nine people die.

The injured victims were treated at a number of health facilities, including RT Notopuro Sidoarjo Hospital, Siti Hajar Hospital, Delta Surya Hospital, Sheila Medika Hospital, Unair Hospital, dr. Mohamad Soewandhie Surabaya and Sakinah Mojokerto Hospital.
