JAKARTA - Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) conducts tests in external laboratories on the quality of fuel as well as sustainable quality control.

Acting. KPI Corporate Secretary, Milla Suciyani said, the product testing was carried out at the Lemigas Oil and Gas Testing Center (BBPMGB), which is an independent laboratory.

"Testing products in Lemigas is one of KPI's efforts to ensure the products produced by KPI are in accordance with the specifications set and safe for use by the community," said Milla, Friday, October 3.

Mila continued, during the test period last August - September, the Lemigas laboratory showed that all KPI processed fuel products had met the specifications required in the Decree of the Director General of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

Milla detailed that the products tested in Lemigas include Pertalite, Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Pertadex, Biosolar and Avtur fuel, or aircraft fuel. A number of fuels were produced by six KPI Operations Units and affiliated companies, namely Dumai Refinery, Plaju Refinery, Cilacap Refinery, Balikpapan Refinery, Balongan Refinery, Kasim Refinery and PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI).

"The results of this test prove that the processing process at KPI remains optimal and produces energy products that comply with national standards," said Milla.

Mila emphasized that each laboratory in the KPI operation unit is supported by accredited test and calibration laboratory SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017 concerning General Requirements for Competency of Testing and Calibration Laboratorys by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN). Periodically, the Pertamina Refinery laboratory is credited to ensure the accuracy of the process and equipment used in standard circumstances.

"The SNI ISO/IEC 1725:2017 audit was conducted to thoroughly verify the competence of personnel, validity of testing methods, tracing measurements and accuracy as well as calibration of all laboratory equipment, so that products that reach consumers are the best, according to specifications," Milla explained.

According to Milla, this Laboratory certification is also a guarantee that all products produced by KPI have gone through a rigorous, layered, safe and quality testing process.

Controlling the quality of fuel products is the main focus of KPI. That's why we carried out a series of tests, both internally and conducting cross-tests with independent institutions such as LEMIGAS. We ensure that the products we produce are in accordance with the specified specifications," Milla said.
