The Government Will Distribute 1,900 Tons Of Special Rice For Food Assistance Until The End Of 2025

JAKARTA - The government through the National Food Agency (Bapanas) will distribute food assistance using fortification rice or special rice for the period until the end of 2025.

Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi said this fotification rice is equipped with more vitamins and minerals to increase people's nutritional intake. Such as, vitamins B1, B3, B6, B9, B12 and Zinc.

"That's the function of providing nutrients and vitamins to the community. So that children will not stunt. People at home consume vitamins and minerals from rice bio-fortification," he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 1.

Arief said that the fortification rice food assistance will be distributed for the period October, November and December 2025 with a total of 1,900 tons.

"(For the three months distributed) 1,900 (tons) amount," he said.

In addition, Arief said that food assistance with fortification rice will target people who are vulnerable to food. Later, the rice distributed to the public will be 15 kg.

"It was given 15 kg by the end of the year, so 3 months," he said.

Arief juga bilang bantuan beras fortifikasi ini berbeda dengan bantuan beras yang telah disalurkan sebelumnya.

“Di luar itu. Kalau yang (bantuan pangan beras biasa) itu 18,27 juta (penerima manfaat) di kali 10 kg, dikali dua bulan,” ucapnya.

Terkait dengan anggaran yang disiapkan, Arief tak menjelaskan secara detail. Namun, dia bilang anggaran tersebut disiapkan oleh Bapanas.

“Enggak banyak lah. Itu kan ada serisi sekitar Rp1.500 sampai Rp2.000 dari beras biasa. Jadi kalau beras biasa Rp14.000 sampai Rp15.000, ini mungkin Rp17.000 gitu ya,” ujarnya.

Arief also said that this fortification rice aid was different from the rice aid that had been distributed previously.

"Besides that. Those (ordinary rice food assistance) are 18.27 million (benefit recipients) times 10 kg, multiplied by two months," he said.

Regarding the budget prepared, Arief did not explain in detail. However, he said the budget was prepared by Badanas.

"Not a lot. There is a series of around Rp. 1,500 to Rp. 2,000 from ordinary rice. So if ordinary rice is Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 15,000, this may be Rp. 17,000, yes," he said.
