Government Gives Discounts On Airplane Tickets, Trains And Ships Applicable During Nataru Holidays

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government would provide discounts for public transportation ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year's 2026. Airlangga said, such as airlines, that they would provide ticket discounts between 12 percent and 14 percent for around 36 million passengers to take advantage of this ticket discount facility. This discount is in the form of a tax discount, namely a 50 percent value added tax (VAT) borne by the government. Airlangga explained that this discount applies to ticket purchases from October 22 to January 10, 2025, with flights scheduled for between December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026.

In addition to discounting plane tickets, the government also provides a discount of 30 percent for train tickets during the period 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, with a target of 1.5 million passengers.

For Pelni sea transportation, a tariff discount of 20 percent of the basic tariff is valid for the period 17 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, intended for 405 thousand passengers.

Meanwhile, ASDP-owned ships provide port service discounts for 227 thousand passengers and 491,000 vehicles, valid from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.
