Public Transportation Will Reach Subsidized Housing Areas

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is committed to providing access to mass public transportation that reaches subsidized housing areas.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said this step was important to strengthen the subsidized housing program which was one of the main priorities of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

"The Ministry of Transportation is ready to collaborate, both with local governments, SOEs and the private sector in supporting and encouraging public transportation access to subsidized housing areas," said Dudy in an official statement, Monday, September 29.

Dudy said, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Intermodal Integration is currently also reviewing subsidies for feeder transportation (feeders) in order to realize safe, comfortable, and affordable integrated transportation for the public.

In developing this integration, the Ministry of Transportation is also actively coordinating with local governments and city governments to ensure the same quality of service for public transport passengers.

"Hopefully the integration of transportation can be wider, reaching the points of public housing and realizing safe, comfortable transportation services, so that more people use public transportation," he said.

For your information, the government held a mass contract of 26,000 Prosperous FLPP mortgages and symbolically handed over the key today in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, Monday, September 29.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP) together with the People's Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera). This activity took place in a hybrid manner.

A total of 200 low-income people from various professional segments carry out contracts directly, witnessed by President Prabowo. Meanwhile, other 25,800 contracts were carried out online and spread over 100 points in 33 provinces.

President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he was very proud of the hard work of all parties to create subsidized houses for low-income people.

"I am very proud, very happy and very grateful to all those who have worked hard so that we can make this happen," Prabowo said at the event.

Prabowo bilang, hadirnya perumahan subsidi tidak hanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan hunian, tetapi juga menjadi salah satu motor penggerak ekonomi.

“Perumahan itu selain memenuhi kebutuhan yang sangat penting untuk rakyat terutama yang berpenghasilan rendah, juga perumahan itu bisa dan selalu menjadi motor pertumbuhan ekonomi,” kata Prabowo.

Prabowo said the presence of subsidized housing was not only to meet the needs of housing, but also to be one of the motors driving the economy.

"The housing in addition to meeting the very important needs for the people, especially those who are low-income, as well as housing, can and has always been a motor for economic growth," said Prabowo.
