DPR Asks Food Task Force To Maintain Rice Quality

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI Novita Hardini asked the Food Station together with the Food Task Force to carry out stricter coaching, especially to maintain rice quality at the final consumer level, after hearing many aspirations from the public.

According to him, monitoring the quality or quality control of food distribution to the public is an important thing to do. The government must also ensure that Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) not only act as an extension of the supply chain, but also become strategic partners who receive direct guidance.

"In BUMD, many workers depend on their lives. The government must be present to guide and supervise, so that BUMD can return to optimal operations with healthy governance," said Novita in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 26.

Furthermore, he also emphasized that the struggle of farmers in the regions must be connected to the national supply chain. That way, according to him, the welfare of farmers will be more secure.

On the other hand, he also praised the policy steps taken by President Prabowo Subianto in making farmers prosperous, one of which was through the increase in Rice Retail Prices (HET).

According to him, President Prabowo has responded to the aspirations of farmers by increasing the Highest Retail Price (HET) of rice from Rp12,500 to Rp13,500. This policy is good news for farmers who have been complaining about the low selling price of rice.

"The increase in the HET of Rice is a form of state presence, so that farmers get a price that is appropriate for the welfare of their lives," he said.
