Bulog Ready To Absorb Rp6,500 Grain Per Kg To Maintain Stock And Protect Farmers

JAKARTA Perum Bulog has confirmed that it will buy Harvest Dry Grain (GKP) from farmers at a price of Rp. 6,500 per kilogram (kg).

This step is taken to maintain the availability of national rice stocks while protecting farmers in the gadu harvest season from September to December 2025.

Director of Procurement of Perum Bulog, Prihasto Setyanto, said that the absorption of these harvests was carried out both through the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) mechanism and commercial schemes.

In every stage, he said, Bulog upholds the principles of accountability, transparency, and good governance to ensure that the entire process runs according to the provisions of the legislation.

"Bulog will buy GKP from farmers directly, when the price at the farmer level is the same and or less than Rp. 6,500 per kilogram," said Prihasto in an official statement, Wednesday, September 24.

This assignment is stated in the letter of Bapanas number 257 / TS.03.03 / K / 9/2025 dated September 18, 2025. The absorption of unhulled rice is carried out in various rice production centers throughout Indonesia with good transparency and governance principles.

"We will carry out this assignment optimally as a form of full support for government policies as well as real protection for Indonesian farmers," he said.

Prihasto optimistis panen gadu tahun ini dapat memberi manfaat bagi petani sekaligus memperkuat stok beras nasional menjadi semangat utama dalam pelaksanaan penyerapan gabah.

“Perum Bulog percaya, keberhasilan penugasan ini akan menjadi wujud nyata kolaborasi antara pemerintah, petani, dan Bulog dalam mewujudkan kemandirian pangan bangsa,” katanya.

Prihasto is optimistic that this year's gadu harvest can provide benefits for farmers while strengthening national rice stocks is the main spirit in the implementation of the absorption of grain.

"Perum Bulog believes that the success of this assignment will be a tangible manifestation of collaboration between the government, farmers, and Bulog in realizing the nation's food independence," he said.
