JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) revealed that there are interest from a number of foreign investors to invest in the halal industrial area in Indonesia.

It is known that currently there are three halal industrial areas that have been determined, namely in Bintan (Riau Islands, Sidoarjo (East Java), Cikande (Arang) and Jababeka (Bekasi).

Head of the Halal Industry Center of the Ministry of Industry Kris Sasono Ngudi Wibowo said the foreign investors came from China to Germany.

"(Interest investment in industrial areas) halal from Germany, there is China, there are from several other Asian countries," said Kris at the Ministry of Industry's office, Jakarta, Monday, September 22.

According to Kris, the market share of halal products in the country is quite large. Therefore, his party encourages the holding of halal exhibitions.

"I say lifestyle, cosmetics, yes, the market is big. That's why we encourage these halal exhibitions to be able to get engagement from producers to meet the needs of the lifestyle and also those who need to know we supply these goods," he said.
