JAKARTA - Indonesia managed to record an investment commitment of US$23.8 billion in the Expo 2025 Osaka event, Japan, with a target realization starting in 2026.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, was also present to visit the Indonesian Pavilion on Saturday, September 20, 2025, to provide support for this strategic achievement.
"The project of investment per day is 23.8 billion dollars. Now this is quite large, of course, to help Indonesia become a developed country with these various investments," said Minister of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy in his statement, quoted on Sunday, September 21.
In addition to investment, Indonesia's participation is also an opportunity to strengthen national branding by affirming its commitment to sustainable development.
Deputy for Economics and Digital Transformation of Bappenas as well as the General Commissioner of the Indonesian Pavilion Vivi Yulawati explained that the Indonesian Pavilion comes with the concept of a large ship that represents the maritime nation and the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
"So this Indonesian Pavilion represents a large ship that of course we know as a maritime nation. So not only from the side of the ship but also cultural life, culinary life, and also natural life are closely related to the sea," explained Vivi.
The Indonesian Pavilion has also succeeded in attracting the attention of important world figures, ranging from prince, prime minister, to minister. From Indonesia itself, support comes not only from ministries and institutions, but also local governments, business people, and the community.
