As of August 2025, Nathabumi has destroyed 103.86 tons of BPO that can damage the ozone layer, or has helped prevent the release of Greenhouse Gas into an atmosphere equivalent to 221,666 tons of Equivalent CO2. Types of BPOs destroyed include halo compounds widely used for fire extinguishers, refrigerants-CFC/HCCFC/HFC from cooling units such as AC and refrigerators, as well as SF6 commonly used in high voltage electrical equipment.

Vita Mahreyni added that the GIS' efforts in the preservation of the ozone layer are increasingly maximized through the initiative to use non-CFC (refrigerant) and non-HALON fire extinguishers in the operating area. Like PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBl), a GIS subsidiary that has used ozone-friendly cooling tools and APARs throughout the operating area.
