Bulog Distributes 2,000 Kg Of Emergency Response Assistance For Flood Victims In Bali

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog through the Bali Regional Office distributed 2,000 kilograms (kg) of emergency response rice for flood victims in Bali. In addition, Bulog also distributed 250 food packages.

The 250 food packages contain 5 kg Premium Rice, 1 liter Cooking Oil, and 1 kg Sugar.

The leader of Bulog Regional Office of Bali, M. Anwar, said that his party also established two emergency response posts located at the Bulog Regional Office of the Bali Regional Office, Jalan Raya Puputan No.35, Renon, Denpasar, as well as in Banjar Dakdakan, Jalan Ken Arok No.20 B, Peguyangan, Denpasar.

In addition, Bulog also provides free lunch and dinner every day at the post during the emergency response period.

"This is a form of our commitment to attend and help people affected by the floods in Bali," he said in an official statement, Sunday, September 14.

Through this emergency response step, continued Anwar, Bulog hopes to ease the burden on the Balinese people who are affected and at the same time accelerate the post-disaster recovery process.

"This assistance is expected to be able to provide real support for flood victims so that they can immediately rise from this difficult situation," concluded Anwar.

Anwar said Bulog's efforts were in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who directly reviewed the flood locations in Badung Regency. During his visit, the President heard complaints from residents, checked the damaged condition of the house, and ordered his staff to help repair the house and ensure that the basic needs of the victims were met.

Prabowo also emphasized that all relevant agencies should move quickly and ensure that the distribution of aid is carried out quickly, on target, and evenly, including to areas that are difficult to reach.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan asked the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and also Perum Bulog to immediately distribute aid to flood victims in Bali.

Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, said that the directive had been submitted to Bapanas and Bulog in a limited meeting at his office on Thursday, September 11.

"I instruct Bulog and Bapanas to immediately distribute aid to flood victims. Let's work together to help relieve our brothers and sisters in Bali, to get through this disaster," he said, quoted from his official Instagram @zul.hasan, Friday, September 12.

Furthermore, Zulhas also expressed his deep condolences for the disaster that befell the Balinese people. He also emphasized that public safety is the main thing in the midst of this condition.

"Security is the main thing in the midst of an emergency situation. The food needs of the affected communities must also be a priority," he said.

Zulhas admitted that this is the first time he has seen Bali suffer from a very severe flash flood disaster. Therefore, he asked all levels of the ministry/institution to also participate in easing the burden on the Balinese people.
