JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli emphasized the importance of the readiness of the younger generation to face the challenges of the world of work in the future, especially for green jobs.
This, said Yassierli, is in line with efforts to realize the big vision of the country, namely Indonesia Gold 2045, where Indonesia has become a developed country and has entered the top five world economic powers.
"To make that happen, the role of younger students is very important and must be prepared from now on. This is a challenge that we must face together," said Minister of Manpower Yassierli as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 13.
Yassierli emphasized that by 2045, green jobs are expected to be increasingly dominant in the employment structure.
He assessed that there are still many universities that have not prepared a curriculum that supports the birth of workers with green competence.
"In fact, green jobs are jobs that contribute to preserving or restoring the environment, either through special tasks, certain skills, implementation of environmentally friendly processes, or producing environmentally friendly outputs," said the Minister of Manpower.
For this reason, Yassierli reminded the younger generation, especially students, to continue to hone themselves through literacy and sustainable learning.
"We cannot predict the challenges of the future. Therefore, the main key is learning. There are things that are discussed in lectures, but there are also things that must be studied on their own. The spirit of learning throughout life is the main provision for facing change," he said.
