He said the availability of stocks and maintaining the stability of bapok prices throughout Indonesia was a priority for the government.

"Today, we have checked the supply and prices at Nanggelan Market. We make sure the stock of bapok here is sufficient and prices are controlled. The government is committed to maintaining stock availability and stability of bapok prices so that they are easily accessible to the public," Budi said in an official statement, Tuesday, September 9.

A number of commodities are sold below the highest retail price (HET) and reference prices, such as sugar Rp17,300 per kg, beef Rp120,000 per kg, chicken eggs Rp27,700 per kg, curly chilies Rp35,000 per kg, red cayenne pepper Rp25,000 per kg, shallots Rp35,000 per kg, and garlic Rp30,000 per kg.
