GT Ciawi 2 Collision Truck, Jasa Marga Accelerates Evacuation To Prevent Long Congestion

JAKARTA - The accident occurred at Ciawi 2 Toll Gate (GT), KM 41 + 400 toll road Jagorawi towards Jakarta on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, at around 02.35 WIB. The accident involved two vehicles, namely container trucks and trucks 3/4.

It is suspected that the truck had failed brakes so that it was out of control and hit GT Ciawi 2. As a result, one person suffered minor injuries and immediately received medical treatment by officers in the field. There were no fatalities as a result of the accident.

Shortly after the incident, officers from the Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) as the manager of the Jagorawi Toll Road with Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) and the police arrived at the location to provide security and immediately regulate traffic.

As a result of the accident, at least three substations were damaged, so only six substations were still operating. To break down the queue of transactions at GT Ciawi 2, RO1 optimizes the use of three mobile reader units and tapping assistance by officers at the location.

Senior Manager Representative Office 1 JMT Alvin Andituhah Singarimbun said that currently Jasa Marga is focusing on accelerating evacuation.

"Currently, we are focusing on accelerating the evacuation of vehicles involved and immediately making repairs to the damage to the toll booths needed so that there will be no prolonged density," Alvin said in a written statement, Thursday, September 4.

Alvin added that the condition of non-prime vehicles is very dangerous for road users. This needs serious attention from the authorities to anticipate worse events in the future.
