Coal Export Value Drops, ESDM Ensures PNBP Remains On Target

JAKARTA - Director General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Tri Winarno ensured that Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from the mineral and coal sector would not decrease even though the value of coal exports decreased.

For information, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the export performance of coal commodities from January to July 2025 decreased by 21.74 percent to 13.82 billion US dollars.

In fact, previously in the same period in 2024, the export performance of this black gold commodity was recorded at 17.66 billion US dollars.

"For PNBP according to the target, God willing, it will be on target by the end of the year," Tri told the media crew, Wednesday, September 3.

Tri added that until now the realization of PNBP until September 1 has reached 70 percent of the target set by the end of 2025.

"In general, PNBP in us as a target as of September 1 is 70 percent," he continued.

Quoted from the Mineral One Data Indonesia (MODI) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the realization of PNBP until August 26, 2025 has reached IDR 84.20 trillion or the equivalent of 67.52 percent of the state revenue target set in the 2025 State Budget of IDR 124.71 trillion.

Tri juga menjelaskan sejatinya penurunan nilai ekspor yang terjadi dikarenakan terjadi peningkatan kapasitas produksi di dua negara tujuan ekspor seperti India dan China. Ia juga menilai penurunan ini merupakan hal yang wajar terjadi.

"Jadi wajar-wajar saja sebetulnya. Sebetulnya ini siklus saja, naik turun gitu harga naik turun, seperti itulah kira-kira,” tandas dia.

Tri also explained that the actual decline in export value occurred due to an increase in production capacity in two export destination countries such as India and China. He also considered this decline to be a natural thing to happen.

"So it's only natural, actually. Actually this is just a cycle, it goes up and down, so prices go up and down, that's how it is," he said.
